FROM SIBILLINI TO CONERO

 

OFFIDA - DAY 1

In the early afternoon visit to the village of Offida: we will discover the glimpses and architectural jewels of the historic center of Offida: from the touch of Libert style in the Serpente Aureo Course , to the medieval and renaissance atmosphere of Piazza del Popolo. You cannot miss a visit to Santa Maria della Rocca , a Romanesque-Gothic masterpiece that will leave you speechless for the beauty of its crypt and the elegance of the upper church. But Offida is also home to the vine : and it will be the Chou Chou winery to host us in its beautiful location, in the sixteenth century Palazzo Mercolini Tinelli, for the tasting of the wines that have made these lands famous : higher Rosso Piceno, Passerina and Pecorino. In the evening, arrival at the structure in Montefortino, dinner and overnight stay.

MONTEFORTINO AND THE SIBILLINI TRUFFLES - DAYS 2

The truffle is the diamond of the Sibillini and this day will be entirely dedicated to the precious “tuber”. After breakfast we will walk through the beech and downy woods to
see the truffle hunters at work with their trusted truffle dogs. Black and white truffle-based lunch. In the afternoon we will visit the nearby village of Montefortino, and
admire its still intact medieval structure. Return to the hotel in Montefortino , dinner and overnight stay.

SIBILLINI TRAILS AND CHEESES, THE SMALL VILLAGES OF SMERILLO AND MONTEFALCONE APPENNINO - DAY 3

For centuries the Sibillini Mountains have been the chosen place for flocks thanks to their green pastures and high-altitude grasslands . After breakfast we will walk with our environmental hiking guide in the sight of the legendary peaks between “carrarecce” (cart tracks) , paths and mountain villages. Free lunch. In the afternoon we will visit the small villages of Smerillo and Montefalcone Appennino. Of Roman origin, both villages are located on the top of a cliff between the Aso and Tenna valleys, and grant breathtaking views of the Sibillini and Laga Mountains . To end your day, at a excellent diary farm, you will enjoy a tasty snack with ricotta (whey cheese) , stracchinato (soft cheese) and aged cheeses. Return to the hotel in Montefortino, dinner and overnight stay.

TREKKING TO THE TOP OF MONTE SIBILLA, THE VILLAGE OF MONTEMONACO - DAY 4

Breakfast in the structure and meeting with the environmental hiking guide. Following a path that is a must for trekking in the chain of the Sibillini Mountains, you will walk at high altitude on the splendid ridge of Mount Zampa , with a view of the Gola dell ‘Infernaccio (Throut of the Hell) , the Mount Vettore and the Valley of Lake Pilato , until you reach the mythical Grotta della Sibilla (Cave of the Sibyl) , a place of worship in the Picene age and a destination for Middle Ages adventurers, knights and necromancers; then , at an altitude of 2173 meters , we will conquer the summit , which gives its name to the Sibillini chain. Free lunch. In the afternoon visit to the mountain village of Montemonaco, with its Sibyl and Diocesan Museums. In the evening, arrival at our hotel in the Ancona area . Dinner and overnight stay.

PORTONOVO AND THE CAVES OF CAMERANO - DAY 5

After breakfast at the hotel, a day of sea and sun in the characteristic Bay of Portonovo. We will visit the church of Santa Maria di Portonovo, a small Romanesque jewel overlooking the Adriatic. Free lunch. In the afternoon we will reach nearby Camerano village to visit its famous caves; accompanied by a local guide we will descend into the bowels of the earth to discover all the secrets and mysteries of this ancient underground complex, full of churches and labyrinthine tunnels . Return to hotel, dinner and overnight stay.

CONERO TREKKING RING - DAY 6

Breakfast at the hotel and meeting with the environmental hiking guide. Out for an excursion on the summit of Mount Conero. After visiting the splendid Romanesque abbey of San Pietro, you will immerse yourself in the fragrancies and colors of the Mediterranean scrubs, among breathtaking views of the Adriatic Sea , as the Passo del Lupo (Path of the Wolf) overlooking the famous beach of the Two Sisters (Due Sorelle). Free lunch. Return to hotel, dinner and overnight stay . 

SIROLO AND THE SASSI NERI BEACH - DAY 7

After breakfast at the hotel, we will leave from the pretty village of Sirolo for a highly panoramic excursion , immersed in the Mediterranean scrubs of the Conero promontory.
The path , which offers splendid views on the limestone cliff plunging into the Adriatic Sea, will lead us to the wild Sassi Neri (black stones) beach, one of the most beautiful and renowned places to enjoy sun and sea baths in the whole Conero coast. Free lunch. End of services.
