Hiking in the reign of Sibilla

1st day: Benvenuti
Pick up at the airport and arrive at the Country Hotel near Montemonaco. It is in a position that can only be described as fantastic. Check-in and some time to relax. Explanation of the program with the hiking guide. Dinner with specialties of the Marche.

2nd day: Impressive views
Hike over the Ambro-Valley, one of the most impressive valleys of the Sibillini mountains. The panoramic trail with a wealth of flowers and many wild orchids (spring) leads downhill along an ancient pilgrim path and offers you the most magnificent views at your feet.
The unspoiled nature of this trail gives this hike a special charm. The final point is the oldest Marian pilgrimage church in Italy, Madonna dell'Ambro, set against the backdrop of the impressive peaks of the Sibillini. In the afternoon, visit this beautifully church. Food in a quaint little restaurant. Then a small city tour in Amandola, a charming little town. Dinner at the hotel with its wonderful cuisine.
Total walking time: approx. 3.0 hours, total height difference: 400 m, mainly downhill

3rd day: The lunar landscape
Drive in the morning to Forca Canapine. Easy hike to the Pantani, the ponds of Accumolì, a jewel of karst in incredibly impressive landscape at about 1,600 m above sea level. Nature lovers will find their paradise here, because the botany of this area exceeds all expectations. In this part of the national park you will also find the point where three regions of Italy border on each other: Marche, Umbria and Lazio. Surprises guaranteed! Lunch with picnic. In the afternoon, a short hike over the Piano Grande. Be curious! Return to the hotel in the late afternoon. Dinner at the hotel.

4th day: Ascoli and its 100 towers
In the morning, drive to Ascoli Piceno, the jewel of the Southern March. Here you will be guided on a city tour back to the times of the Romans and the Middle Ages. You will be fascinated by the balanced beauty of this city. Do not miss an aperitif in the famous Caffè Meletti, one of the most beautiful Art Nouveau cafes in Italy! Then, for lunch, enjoy the "sapori delle colline", the aromas of the hills together with the typical wine of the Marche.
The afternoon is at leisure, where you can enjoy the beach in San Benedetto del Tronto with the longest palm corso in Italy or just stroll around the city. Dinner is served at the hotel.

5th day: The Gola dell'Infernaccio
In the heart of the National Park, we climb into the Hell Canyon, where the Tenna River dug its bed through towering limestone cliffs (GZ: 4 hours, / - 180 m). This gorge is considered the most impressive of the entire region. In good weather, have a picnic by the small church of San Leonardo. In the afternoon we take you to the end of the world, to Foce, where we also take a short walk through centuries-old trees, surrounded by the highest peaks of the sibillines. (Total walking time approx. 1 hr., / -50 m)

Day 6: Nature creates sculptures
Today starts with a slightly longer journey (about 1 hour), but also ends with impressive experiences. We drive first to the Fiastra lake, from whose one end we start the beautiful hike to the Lame Rosse. The path leads through small forests and ends before the magnificent formations of the Lame Rosse, which have formed from sand. After this natural work of art, you can have a wonderful lunch in a small restaurant by the lake. By the way: the owner is a truffle finder! That promises a lot ... In the afternoon we take a walk along the lake (about 45 minutes, 50 meters) before we return to the country hotel.

Day 7: Ciao e arrivederci nelle Marche!
Day of the return journey with hopefully many beautiful memories of one of the last paradises of Europe. transfer
to the airport in Ancona or to the train station in San Benedetto del Tronto.

The hikes do not include climbing passages or risky paths. The classification is easy difficulty.
This trip is well suited for inexperienced hikers.
