SELF - DRIVE TOUR "CASTLES AND VILLAGES OF LANDS OF DUKES OF URBINO"
SELF-DRIVE TOUR Northern itinerary 6 days / 5 nights
1st day: Arrival in Gradara. Group visit with local guide to the village, among towers and alleys, panoramic points, churches and curiosities. Entrance to the Castle famous for the love story of Paolo and Francesca made immortal by the verses of canto V of Dante's inferno. Transfer and accommodation in a farmhouse. Overnight.
2nd day: Breakfast. Meeting with the guide to visit Pesaro, the city of music, where the great composer Gioacchino Rossini was born. Free afternoon. Return to the farmhouse. Overnight.
3rd day: Breakfast and departure for the magnificent Urbino whose historic center is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Meeting with the guide for a half-day visit of the center and the birthplace of Raffaello Sanzio. Free afternoon with the possibility to entry to the Doge's Palace. Transfer to Urbania, accommodation in a country house and overnight stay.
4th day: Breakfast and departure for Piobbico. Full day guided tour. Meeting with the guide and visit of the village consisting of a series of very characteristic narrow streets at the foot of the most important architectural element, the Brancaleoni Castle with over 100 rooms. At the end, return to Urbania to continue the visit of this town, ancient Casteldurante, known for the production of majolica dating back to the Middle Ages. Return to the country house and overnight.
5th day: Breakfast. Departure for Acqualagna "Capital of the Truffle" to participate to a guided hunting of this famous tuber. Free afternoon for a walk in Fossombrone, an ancient town located in the middle valley of the Metauro river and along the route of the ancient Via Flaminia and in Mondavio among "the most beautiful villages in Italy" with its imposing Renaissance fortress. Return to Urbania and overnight.
6th day: Breakfast and departure for Sassocorvaro. Meeting with the guide and visit of the village dominated by the mighty Rocca Ubaldinesca with its unique zoomorphic structure in the shape of a tortoise, now home to the Pinacoteca with numerous paintings. At the end, return to the places of origin.
Included: overnight stay in a country house / farmhouse with breakfast, 5 half days of guided tour, 1 visit to the winery with tasting, truffle hunting activities, insurance.
