The town of Frontone is located in the Province of Pesaro and Urbino, at the foot of the massif of Mount Catria, and it borders with the Provinces of Ancona and Perugia. The historical-architectural memory of this town is entrusted to the fourteenth century church of Santa Maria dell'Acqua Nera (Saint Mary of the Balck Water), which houses a beautiful terracotta statue of the Virgin with Child, and the castle of the XIII century, which still retains parts of the fifteenth centuty reconstruction made by Francesco di Giorgio Martini.
