The Gorge  of Acquasanta is located on the road that from Colfiorito leads to Macerata, near Bolognola. From the village, you have to go uphill until Forcella Fargno, where is the direction towards the shelter on the left. After a first part of the track between meadows and ridges, you reach the forest where you have to cross the first two river floodplains, often marshy or full of snow, and later get close to the third one. Here is the entrance of the gorge. Leaving the gorge and once crossed the artificial barrier, you follow the aqueduct until you see the highest part of Bolognola on the other side of the valley. The gorge has few and short jumps. The charm and the difficulties are related to the presence of large snowfields that you have to overcome by climbing or underpassing.  You need at least three strings of 30 m and, due to the possible presence of avalanche deposits, ice axes and a few ice screws are recommended. The gorge  of Acquasanta is located in one of the least known valleys of the National Park of the Sibillini Mountains and is one of the most picturesque and inaccessible gorges, with the eponymous natural waterfall, enclosed by the steep and rugged slopes of Mount Cacamillo (1,776 m) and Punta Bambucerta (1,869 m): Val of Tela. Val di Tela is a U shaped glacial valley, difficult to access in every mouth: the feasible track is to the east of the Cucciolara fork, the track to the west is acrobatic and pretty dangerous .
