The bike track starts out from a nice green area of twelve hectars along the left bank of the Esino river: the Cormorano park. This quiet oasis rich in flora and fauna belongs to the municipality of Falconara Marittima, not far from Ancona, in a northerly direction towards Senigallia. Cyclists enjoy taking a break at the two little lakes in the park, where fishing enthusiasts spend their time.
Just inside the Cormorano Park is a bike trail about 6 km long which ends close to the viewing point of the Via La Retta in Chiaravalle, the birthplace of Maria Montessori, the educationalist famous worldwide. But before arriving in Chiaravalle you can stop off in the district of Rocca Priora, about 4 km up from Falconara Marittima where an impressive medieval castle with drawbridge and gardens can be found. This fortress was a veritable bulwark for Ancona for centuries. Then continue in the direction of Chiaravalle: following the bike path you will get close to the Tobacco Factory, one of the most important industries of the region that turned Chiaravalle into the tobacco industry homeland as far back as 1759.
If after your bike ride immersed in verdant nature you wish to dip into art and particularly music, we suggest a visit to the Valle Theatre in central Corso Matteotti before going back to Falconara Marittima.
