Montemonaco - Ditch of the Corona

The Dith of the Corona is located on the eastern crest of Mount Sybil; it's a very special ring that can be described as "steep". You must travel the long ridge that leads to the peak of Mount Sibilla and follow it to a height of 1880 m. The path continues in an open area, there are no traces of the path, and you must go uphill. However, this is a land where you can venture only if you are used to this kind of activity and you have a mountaineering training. After this stretch, the slope loses steepness and you can take the path that  follows the sharp ridge. After descending the eastern ridge you reach the top part of the "Crown". You soon reach the Cave of the Sibyl (or what it remains), where you can still see the inscription carved on a stone (year 1378). From here follow the slender path that runs along the rocky wall of the Crown to return to the main trail on the ridge and come back.

Due to the earthquake occurred in central Italy in 2016 the area can't be crossed.
