The villa rises by the road leading from San Biagio to Filottrano, in the centre of a wide estate.

It was built in the beginning of the XVIII century as the country residence of the Accoretti marquises, even though its current design reflects the transformations occurred in the following century, when it became a property of the Carradori family.

Typical of the villa’s design is the theme of pleasantness which appears in its decorations, in the vegetal theatre and in the whole park, and explains its original “Casino di Delizie”(Cottage of delight) name.

After being neglected for a while, the villa was recently brought back to magnificence.

The park is accessed through a gate placed between the guardian’s house and another building, used in past times to breed silkworms. On its left there is a green area which was one of the most important vegetal theatres in the region. Giulia Bonarelli Modena (1892-1933, the first female MD in Italy) described it enthusiastically, describing the cypresses shaped like truncated cones that surrounded the stalls area, arranged in a growing symmetric order and dominated in the centre by a lonely cypress which stood untouched with all of its height.

Although the composition doesn’t faithfully reflect the one described by Bonarelli Modena anymore, the park and the cypresses are still there.

The rest of the park, meant to please the guests, is designed in a pure Arcadian style in the terraces hosting  Italian gardens, in the pools, in the ludic paths between mechanic games, the hunting wood with its hiding towers, the greenhouses and the woods adorned with kiosks, seats and stone busts.
