Valcimarra - The fortified village of Valcimarra

Valcimarra is a little village near Caldarola; there are two parts: Valle, where are the little church of St. Antonio and the ancient domus hospitalis, and Colle, where is the Church of Saints Pietro and Biagio. Valcimarra owes its origin to the Roman road that connected Maddalena of Muccia with Pievefavera Roman "statio". In the Middle Ages defensive reasons led to the construction of a tower, which still exists, and a gate, demolished in 1510.
