Marche is full of the story, the figure and the spirit of S. Francesco of Assisi, both thanks to  geographic proximity to Umbria, and for elective affinity and because, from the start, they welcomed him.

In the region settled the spiritual friars, who occupied caves, monasteries, convents, and for centuries the territory has preserved and reinterpreted the spirit of Franciscanism.

The Marche Region has contributed to the enhancement of this extraordinary  history chapter that from the thirteenth century onwards has characterized the culture of our country and encouraged research on the places of the Franciscan order in the Marche region, promotional activities of cultural and religious heritage of local communities, organization of cultural events and tours.
