Fabriano - Museum of Historical Piano and Sound

The Museum of Historical Piano and Sound, open to the public from April 2012, is a structure set up at the monumental complex of San Benedetto in Fabriano thanks to the "dramatised" display of the 18 historical pianos that cover the timeframe from late eighteenth century to the early twentieth century and which are Claudio Veneri's collection. the Guided tours-concerts proposed by the museum are a real journey in the history of evolution of the piano and, in parallel, in the history of the great composers of music that through these tools have written many of the most important pages of Music.

A close meeting with Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, Ravel and Debussy and the original instruments on which they composed and performed their most famous songs played in their original file sounds thanks to the performances of a concert pianist who will lead the visit and will make visitors live emotions and absolutely unprecedented suggestions.

The journey starts from the first "Gravicembalo with Forte and with Piano", invented between 1698 and 1700 from the Italian Bartolomeo Cristofori, to move to the first concert hall where one Square Floor-Clementi & Co. (London 1813 ) and one of the 60 existing instruments in the world built by Johann Schanz (Vienna 1810), nicknamed "the Prince" and "the Stradivari" of the Piano stand out. Thanks to these shiny instruments, the visitor meets the magic of the original sound of Beethoven and Mozart.

The journey then leads into the rooms where pianos made by the most important Austrian, British, French and Italian producers dominate. All tours-concerts are guided and on the historical pianos of the collection only "live" music is proposed, performed by a concert performer and underscored by educational-evocative images that send the visitor back to settings and furnishings, sets, costumes and atmosphere from the end of the Baroque and the sunset of Clavier to the early twentieth century and the large concert piano which represented the final stage of the evolution of the most extraordinary musical instrument made by human talent.
