Fabriano - The fortified village of Precicchie

The fortitied village of Precicchie, perched on top of a hill at mt. 535 above sea level, was fief of Counts Attone and later fell under the influence of Lords Rovellone. Precicchie dates back to the the twelfth century and still retains a fortified medieval center, characterized by massive walls with windows and loopholes, narrow streets on a steep slope along which are arched doorways. At Christmas the village hosts  the Living Nativity. In August the Palio of the Campanari (bell-ringers) sees a challenge of the best bell ringers in the area. In July a Film critics and TV Prize is organized: it's a cinema study conference with workshops, shows and discussions.
