The new park of Porta Romana - which stands on the former shooting range - stretches over an area of just over one hectare, by visually welding the marble city and the green. Thanks to this new urban park, the City of Ascoli Piceno wanted to add a further element to the redevelopment of the area of Porta Romana, which is the gateway to town for those coming from the Salaria way. The area nowadays houses a soccer field, a multipurpose footbal field, tennis and volleyball courts, two bowling greens, a new building used as changing rooms, services and a social club. It has also been enhanced the area devoted to children, with the latest generation of games divided by age groups. Also to be mentioned are areas for the free entertainment, paths for jogging and mountain biking.
