Amandola – The Carnival of “li Paniccià”

Now in its 29th edition, the Carnival of “li Paniccià” takes its name from an ancient epithet with which the Amandola peple called in the Middle Ages those who were engaged in the dyeing of fabrics (cloths). The event is a set of initiatives culminating in two particular events: the parade of floats and masked groups (mainly realized by school classes) through the streets of the city, which is held on the Sunday before Shrove Tuesday, and the bonfire of King Carnival.
