In Ancona, on the Conero Riviera, there are three beach resorts called Portonovo, Passetto and Palombina Nuova. The latter, the northernmost of the three, is equipped with two flyovers, both on their turn equipped with an elevator, which lead to the beach. One is north, by the “Romano” resort No. 22, the other south. The former works round the year. It is placed by a little square where a parking is reserved for the disabled. There are no problems for those who wish to stroll by the seaside on a wheelchair, since a pathway has been created which gets from the southernmost limit of Palombina Nuova up to Palombina Vecchia. As for Portonovo, JOB wheelchairs can be hired there both, at the “Emilia” resort by the quay (by bathers from the whole beach) and, along the southern section, at the “Bonetti” and “La Capannina” resorts (in this case too by bathers from the whole beach). The Passetto beach was recently equipped by the city Councilwith a gangplank and with an elevator leading from the pine grove down to the beach. Access to all beaches is possible by wheelchairs; at “La Capannina” a dais for the disabled has been placed, which gets close to the water by the first line of beach umbrellas.
