The Barco was built north-west of Urbania by Federico da Montefeltro. It was one of the places Francesco Maria II della Rovere loved most. A hunting park offered the duke a chance to give rest both to his body and to his spirit. Nowadays, after it was demolished because the original structure had collapsed, the Barco consists of a XVIII century convent in Vanvitelli’s style, bearing an imposing architectural structure. Recent restorations brought to light XVIII century frescos in the refectory of the Franciscan friars. Precisely in this hall civil weddings can be celebrated.
