Morrovalle is a hilly town which was probably founded during the Middle Ages, although people had lived there even in ancient times.

A cylindrical tufa monolith dating back to prehistoric times has been found In the countryside. The oldest epigraph of the whole Picene area is written on it.

The former entrance gates to the town and valuable examples of civil and sacred architecture are still preserved: the building of the chief magistrate, the civil tower and Palazzo lazzarini, all dating back to the 14th century, the 17th century church of St. Augustine where a peculiar Madonna made of leather dating back to the end of the 13th century is preserved; the former Augustinian convent (17th century) where a ladder attributed to Vanvitelli can be found and the 18th century Town Hall.

In the underground of the former Convent of the Augustinian Friars ( 18th century) you can see the International Nativity Museum, where more than 500 cribs of every shape, size, material and made using all types of techniques are exhibited.
