At the feet of Mount San Vicino, 1000 meters above sea level, 13 Km away from Apiro and connected by a paved road, there is Pian dell’Elmo, a charming village which in the summertime welcomes both tourists and residents who long for peace, silent landscapes and the contact with a still virgin nature, rich with timber trees and with still intact flora and fauna. A trekking itinerary reaches up to the Cross, on the mountain top, by means of a path which penetrates in the middle of fir trees and of a rich undergrowth and then gets high in the open, on a rocky and stony terrain. The panorama is beautiful and reaches down to the sea.
