Near the River Nera source is Castel Sant'Angelo sul Nera. This destination, excellent starting point for excursions in the Sibillini National Park, is famous for relaxing summer walks, for its cultural offer of churches and Romanesque monuments, and also for its ski slopes and ski lifts (Monte Prata, 1,850 m a.s.l.). 

Ski facilities:
- 5 ski slopes of which one blue, three red and one black. The lower elevation of the slopes is 1,550 m a.s.l. and the maximum is 1,850 m a.s.l.; - 1 ski lift; - The two-seater chairlift Valle dell’Angelo - Monte Prata has an hourly capacity of 1,200 people, is 900 metres long and gives access to all the slopes of Monte Prata: even the less experienced skiers can take the ski lift and descend through the Panoramica slope; - A moving carpet  50 m. long in the field school; - 1 snow park; - Italian Ski School of  Monte Prata, located in Monte Prata, a mountain rescue service provided by the Association Marco Peda

Due to the earthquakes occurred in 2016 the ski resort will be closed.
