Cagli - Giuoco dell'Oca (Game of the Goose)

 

In Cagli on the first and second Sunday of August it is held the Giuoco dell’Oca (Game of the Goose), which earliest records date back to 1543. The preliminary ceremonies take place on the first Sunday and the Palio on the second one. The winner is one who first stops at number 54 on the board, where  a white goose is depicted, symbol of San Gerontius, the patron saint of the city.
