Cagli - Ditch of Mount Petrano

From Mount Petrano you can see along the Burano Gorge the old and the new part of the Via Flaminia. You can only observe the tree-lined strip along the banks of the river. The slopes of the mountain to the right (Torrione and Genga Grande) belong to Mount Petrano, while the ones to the left belong to Mount Catria. These are covered by sparse woods, bushes, grassy clearings and limestone. From the oldest rocks placed at the core you can observe the Limestone Massif, the Còrniola, the Limestone Diasprini and the Maiolica (Era Mesozoic Era). On the Roccaccia and on the rest of the escarpment downward, are softer Marls, topped by white and red flakes.
