Macerata - Buonaccorsi Palace “Aeneid Hall”

In the heart of the city there is the XVIII century Palace built by the Buonaccorsi family, nowadays a property of the municipality, which hosts some art collections (the Museum of the Carriage and collections of ancient and modern art). Endowed with an inner court and an Italian garden, the palace boasts a characteristic entrance hall, paved with oak wood, and ceiling coffers bearing baroque and rococo mythological paintings. A charming work by Michelangelo Ricciolini, The wedding of Bacchus and Ariadne, is painted on the barrel vault. Lavish and elegant paintings frame the weddings celebrated in the Aeneid Hall.
