Camerino - Art Gallery and Civic Museum

The Art Gallery and Civic Museum has work by local painters from the XIV-XVI centuries, resulting from the confiscation of religious goods. The picture gallery is located in the convent of Saint Dominic. It houses a collection of paintings by the most famous artists of the pictorial school of Camerino (Giovanni Angelo di Antonio from Bolognola, Girolamo di Giovanni and Giovanni Boccati from Camerino). It also includes an archaeological section with a remarkable collection of vertebrates fossils from the Quaternary (hippopotamus, elephants and rhinoceros from the Colfiorito plain), a contemporary art section and an exhibition of apothecary vases.
