Titolo: Madonna delle rose

Destinata alla chiesa jesina di San Francesco al Monte, l’opera è formata da una tavola quadrata con la Madonna, il bambino e i santi Giusepe e Girolamo e da una lunetta con i santi Francesco e Chiara. Il titolo deriva dal roseto che si vede sulla sinistra e dai petali di rosa sparsi a terra davanti al trono di Maria. Giuseppe gioca con il Bambino in un momento di gioia e tenerezza, Maria tocca il libro di San Girolamo, invitandolo a non aprire le scritture per non turbare, con il racconto della passione e della morte del Cristo, la felicità del Bambino.
